Hermann Niebuhr |
Born in Johannesburg in 1972, Niebuhr has developed a sheer joy in the beauty and power of paint. Coupling this joy with other complex intentions, Niebuhr looks to toy with the very lineage into which he was born a painter. As Niebuhr states: “my point is that painting is part of the contemporary avant garde. Paintings can be every bit as good, every bit as powerful, every bit as strong as anything being done in any other medium.”
