Bronwen
Findlay

Findlay uses intense, bold colours and vigorous painting techniques to elevate the decorative and the ordinary into her work. Challenging conventional readings, her work explores issues of transience through irony, sentimentality and embellishment by transforming the ordinary. Yet her paintings are always about the process of painting itself, constantly drawing attention to the paint as a physical matter independent of the subject depicted.
